Apple’s iPhones will have a big competition on their hands as Google is set to launch its much discussed smart phone next week.
The new smart phone, Nexus One, may be unveiled Jan 5 when the internet search engine giant holds a media briefing about its smart phone business at its Mountainview headquarters in California.

Apple Countersues Nokia
Almost two months after Nokia sued Apple for infringing 10 of its patents for GSM, UMTS and wireless LAN (WLAN) standards, Apple has countersued Nokia claiming that the Helsinki based manufacturer has infringed upon no less than 13 of Apple’s patents. Apple indirectly took a dig at Nokia when Apple’s General Counsel and Senior Vice President quipped, “Other companies must compete with us by inventing their own technologies, not just by stealing ours.”
