A four-nation axis comprising India, China, Brazil and South Africa, has clearly emerged and would play a key role in shaping the outcome of the UN climate change meet that began in Copenhagen today, Environment minister Jairam Ramesh told The Financial Express.

The four emerging economies have already drawn up a basic draft for negotiating cuts in greenhouse gas emissions on the principle of differentiated responsibility, he said.
