Wipro to Establish Second IT Campus in West Bengal
Wipro Tech to Establish Second Campus in West Bengal – IT services giant Wipro Technologies has taken West Bengal’s offer of 50 acres in Rajarhat on the outskirts of the city for establishing its second campus, lending some relief to the ruling Left Front.
The Chairman at Wipro Technologies Mr. Azim Premji with his officials has visited the plot and in addition also held a meeting with Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee at the state secretariat Writers’ Buildings. Besides this, Azim Premji stated, “We visited the site in the morning and have settled with the government for purchase of the land. We appreciate the support we have received from the state government.”
According to him, the plot has a lot of potential. Also, the belonging to the housing infrastructure development corp. (Hidco) will be passed over to the IT giant for Rs. 1.5 crore per acre. The company said that the work will start in 18 months and the area is getting ready.
